Occupational Therapy & Home Assessments

Our Occupational Therapists aim to assist with improving independence with daily life tasks.

Home Assessments

Home visits can benefit those who are at risk of falls, are elderly or frail or experience difficulties performing daily living tasks due to illness or injury
Therapists assess the home for safety and function and are able to advise on modifications and equipment to assist clients in living as independently as possible in their own homes.

This can include:

  • Home assessment and modification to improve safety and enhance greater access within the home, and independence with activities of daily living
  • Prescription of aides and equipment to maximise independence for patients with reduced function and mobility due to pain, congenital conditions, injury or frailty
  • Client and carer education in the use of assistive equipment
  • Assessment and prescription of personal safety alarms within the home
  • Assessment of activities of daily living to determine an individual’s level of care required following motor vehicle or workplace accidents
  • Please contact us directly to arrange an appointment. Referral is not required, unless treatment is funded through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs or an insurance body
